Also 3 decades in DB2 -- since taking IBM DB2 DBAD course in 1980 (before DB2 GA) -- prior=3 yrs in CICS/IMS/DLI, 6 yrs in VSE/VSAM, 10 yrs COBOL. Been working with IBM hardware/software/technology/people since mid-60s, but only IBM GBS employee from 2000-07 (IT Architect/Consultant) in DW/BI practice. "Early Retired" (RA) in 2007. Currently contract consulting as DB2/zOS Performance/Scalability Architect (IBM/Aetna, BofA, IBM/Maersk, Agilex/USPS, BCBS of AL). Really want to keep current in DB2 technology, when webinars, seminars, etc. don't interfere with work schedule. Not so much into "Green" as into "Cost-effective" (efficient) Technology Resource Management (which is sometimes VERY "Green") and SOA/Mainframe Modernization/Migration/Integration (DB2 Server/Services) to Distributed Java/Unix/Web platforms).

Ye Olde Goate, AKA "The COBOL/DB2 Wizard"
"Olde Goates don't 'fade away', they just 'butt out'."
Still Buttin'
